Upcoming/Current Projects:

January - February 2017: EXPLORE The World of John Steinbeck 

Creating a virtual world presenting source material and related information, in partnership with Tacoma Little Theatre, in support of a production of "Of Mice and Men" using immersive format. Produced on the Kitely Grid, this project will include live voice presentations of the novella, virtual, tours, and be accessible for exploration online by anyone 24/7 during the production run.  (Kitely Grid, Educational)

March - May 2017: "Poetry of the Planets" at Linden Endowment for the Arts

Working across the virtual spoken and written word communities, Poetry of the Planets will invite residents to be inspired by, and engaged in the creation of poetry. Visitors to the project will be invited visit one of seven "planets” whose visual design is inspired by the seven movements of Gustav Holst’s “The Planets.” Visitors will be encouraged to write and submit poetry as part of a larger celebration of Poetry Month in the United States. Decembers 2012 - 2018: The Dickens Project

Walking in the steps of Ebenezer Scrooge, the Dickens project is an immersive environment reflecting the words of Charles Dickens' novella, and providing a framework for live presentations of the story.  Additional works are presented, plus supporting information on the author, his time, and adaptations of his work. In 2016, 26 hours of live music and story performances were presented, with event attendance at approximately 650 unique, and traffic regularly in the high 2000s during the ten day festival.

September 2016: Pirate Sunday - International Talk Like A Pirate Day 

Created a pirate cove interactive quay area with explorable ships, as site for a story and music event held in the virtual world, raising money for Stand Up 2 Cancer.

June - December 2016: Virtual Baker Street

In residence at the University of Washington's campus in the virtual world of Second Life, installed custom built "Baker Street" environment including Galleries with information on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes canon, adaptive works and pastiches, notable performances of the Great Detective and his loyal companion.  His Last Bow, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Sign of the Four, plus some adaptive works, were all presented live over the six month residency.  In all 30 hours of live voice performances were presented, with event attendance at approximately 541 visits.

March 2016: EXPLORE Anton Chekov and The Absurd 

Creating a virtual world presenting presenting source material and related information, in partnership with Tacoma Little Theatre, in support of a production of  Christopher Durang's "Vanya, Sonya, Masha, and Spike" using immersive format. Produced on the Kitely Grid, this project included live voice presentations from the works and letters of Anton Chekhov, virtual, tours, and was accessible for exploration online by anyone 24/7.

February - May 2016: Seanchai Library's Crazy Eights at Linden Endowment for the Arts

A celebration of Seanchai Library's eight years on the Second Life grid as a spoken word promoter of literature and stories.  Created a custom built region which included four major event venues, a "story forest" walk through tableau of classic tales with links to the texts, a resource center, and an gallery space.  41 live events were produced for a total of 58.5 event hours, involving 32 individual artist/presenters, totaling 3,178 visits over a four month period.

January - February 2015: EXPLORE The Great Gatsby 

Creating a custom built virtual world presenting presenting source material and related information, in partnership with Tacoma Little Theatre, in support of a production of  "The Great Gatsby" using immersive format. This project was the pilot of the EXPLORE program, and included live voice presentations of F. Scott Fitzgerald's great American novel, virtual, tours, and was accessible for exploration online by anyone 24/7. This pilot included 10 hours of voice presentations (the entire novel twice through), over 100 virtual visits from around the world, and was exposed to 1500 theater patrons through a computer station in the lobby of the theater.

Octobers 2011 - 2014: BOOFest

An annual gathering or storytellers and story readers, to share scary tales (both original and published works) around a virtual campfire.  Over the course of its four year term, this event produced 24 hours of live voice programming, and raised money for various charities including Child North America, and Kenya - Feed a Smile.

Augusts 2011 - 2013: Bard on the Virtual Beach

A celebration of the work of William Shakespeare in scenes, sonnets, and poems. The vent was built and produced in a "Shakespeare in the park" type format, where visitors sat on benches and blankets on a virtual beach in front of a "festival set" where live performances where offered. Over the course of its three year term, this event produced 10 hours of live voice performances, and raised money for various charities

Marchs 2011 - 2014: StoryFest

An annual gathering or storytellers and story readers, to share live voice presentations in celebration of World Storytelling Day.  Over the course of its four year term, this event produced 31 hours of live voice programming, and raised money for various charities.

October 2011: War of the Worlds – Radio Script

Produced and directed a live voice presentation of Howard Koch's 1939 script for the Mercury Theater featuring nine performers, which toured to various venues around the grid. Created a HUD controlled set which included a Martian ship landing, blasting ray beams, fog, smoke, and a surprise explosion at the end.

October 2008 and 2010: Dracula – Radio Script

Produced and directed a live voice presentation of Larry Albert's script for Seattle's Jim French Productions, featuring nine performers, which toured to various venues around the grid. Redesign in the second year featured a "castle" set inspired by some of the actual locations where Vlad Dracul was thought to have lived.
